Hello everyone, Lenzi here with a super hot holiday tip. Now that all the coolest boys and girls are picking up Bif Bang Pow!'s Big Lebowski and Flash Gordon action figures to pass along to friends and lovers, there's one more super cool action figure that must be had: the Black Robed Ming Variant . That's right, a very limited number of action figures have been made of Ming in his black decoed outfit, and Entertainment Earth is the only place you can go to get 'em. The wait is over. Seasons greetings, Friends of Bif Bang Pow! (or F.O.B.B.P.!), it's Lenzi again, in from the cold to spread more holiday cheer. Our good pals at Toy Fare Magazine (THE place to go for all your toy news needs, duh) have published their awesome 2007 Holiday Gift Guide in the most recent issue (#125), and guess who's showing his mug once again? Go on, guess. Yes, your eyes and guts are telling you right, it's Jeffrey Lebowski. The Dude. El Duderino. Etc, etc, etc...Wedged bravely between the eagerly awaited 'Blade Runner' Special Edition DVD set and King Leonidas' banana hammock, The Dude stands loud and proud at #5 on The Movie Buff's wish list. Hey, why not get that special someone the set of Walter and The Dude action figures, and a copy of the movie on DVD? (Every home should have one by now, but just in case...) And heck, don't stop there, the 'Flash Gordon' DVD and action figure combo set would look great under that tree too! Better hurry, tho...

To Cancel or not to Cancel – that is the question! We have been reading your comments and we sincerely appreciate your support of our brand and your feedback. And now the facts: Entertainment Earth did change the status on the 12inch The Big Lebowski figures to canceled – and it's true for now. These 12-inch figures are a casualty of a basic rule of economics - supply and demand. If the demand is not there, then there can be no supply. Even though everyone loves how the prototypes turned out, and we've had great interest and publicity, pre-sales have not been strong enough to warrant a full production run today. The good news is that this absolutely does NOT change the status of the 8-inch Urban Achiever action figures, which are in production today. Shipping is scheduled for late November. AND there will be Wave 2 of The Big Lebowski 8-Inch Urban Achiever action figures! More details coming soon!

News Flash! The Wall Street Journal of the collector world, Toy Fare Magazine, has given Bif Bang Pow! a nice two page spread in the latest issue to celebrate the imminent release of the 'Flash Gordon' Series 1 figures. On stands now, issue 124 is chock full of all the usual informative pop culture goodness we've come to expect, but it now comes new and improved with a nice little interview with artist and fan extroardinaire Alex Ross, and yours truly. (With a sneak peek at a Series 2 figure!) Finally, all of our secrets are revealed! We talk of the past! The future! And even manage to slip the present in there somewhere. If you haven't checked it out yet, GEEK Magazine is one of the coolest new periodicals on the stands these days. It features all the cool content we discerning geeks demand, covering the world of movies, television, gaming, collectibles and comics. In the past, they've had the hip insight to feature the likes of Rainn Wilson (The Office), Greg Grunberg (Heroes) and 30 Rock's Tina Fey (current issue!) on their covers, and now you have no excuse not to check it out: The Dude and Flash Gordon are making cameo appearances. Hello everyone, Lenzi back again, with an exciting discovery. Seems the folks over at 'Stuff' magazine, (which, like me, I'm sure you just pick up for the fantastic articles) have gone and done what all intelligent and well read achievers do: they got on the Bif Bang Pow! train. Once again, Walter and the Dude (or El Duderino, if you're not into the whole brevity thing) have placed themselves on a list, the Hit List in the August issue of 'Stuff', to be exact. The editors have even managed to include a nice shot of Cynthia's dog (most likely not, in fact, a Pomeranian as previously stated elsewhere) over Walter's shoulder. So look for it at all good newsstands now, with the lovely Katharine McPhee on the cover. I don't know about you, but I can't wait to get my mitts on that pair. Wait, I meant the figures!! Come on!

Well, the Bif Bang Pow! love fest keeps rolling on. As if a nod of approval from New York magazine wasn't enough, our Urban Achiever Vinyl Dude and Walter have just been featured in the July/August issue of Death + Taxes magazine! We're number 2 on their list of 'Toys of Summer', and once again we're in good company with an unbreakable flask and a six pack of Newcastle. Hmmm, wonder if they're trying to tell us something....Anyway, run out and get your copy and be like the rest of the cool kids. It's a great magazine, and obviously it's editors have exceptional taste.

Now I don't want this blog to turn into 'Stan's Soapbox' or anything, but there's a little bit of Lebowski Buzz that's occured recently that we here at BBP have been too modest to mention. But gosh darnit, I think it's so flippin' cool that I can't contain myself any longer. He everyone, Jason Lenzi checking in again, with some terrific news for all Flash Gordon, Sci Fi, cult movie, and well, Queen fans: after a near ten year abscence, Universal's 1980 feature 'Flash Gordon' is finally getting a long awaited re-release on DVD this summer! Yup, the 'Flash Gordon: Saviour of the Universe Edition' DVD hits shelves on August 7, 2007. Not only that, but it'll have special exclusive artwork done by our old friend Alex Ross, who as you may already know, is not only the biggest fan of the film on the planet, but is also acting as artistic director on Bif Bang Pow!'s 7" FG action figure line. Jason Lenzi here, the other Founding Jason of Bif Bang Pow! This is my first post on this new fangled 'blog', as the kids say, and I wanted to add my sentiments right away to those of Jason Labs. Our first Toy Fair was by all accounts a success, and the number of people, both in fan and buyer form, that came by to add praise and ask when they could get the little plastic goodies in their hands, was overwhelming. I met alot of very cool people, and the comments we heard most often were of the "It's about time!", and "Wow! You just made my Toy Fair experience!" variety, and from where I sit it doesn't get much more emphatic than that. It sort of validated all the hard work and efforts we've put into this for so long. But it's not over yet. So watch this space for more information as it becomes available, on these and future lines we're involved with.
